StarLock is a project created for a collaborative, three week class with the Jim Henson Company to create a pitch for a children's show. I worked on a team with three other students for the first two weeks of the class where I created animation and dynamic effects, which are featured in a pitch reel for the project. After these two weeks, our class traveled to California and presented our show concepts to the Jim Henson Company in person.
The magic book was one of my contributions to the project. To create the effect, I modeled and UV mapped the book cover. Next I rigged the cover and animated it opening. The book pages were turned into nCloth and attached to the cover. These pages were lifted with a volume axis field and blown over with the nucleus wind.
Eve is the main character of Starlock. For her, I animated her walk cycle and created expressions for the project's pitch bible.
